Description
John M. Allen French Passport Signed. One page, 9.5" x 13.75", March 13, 1831, Marseille, France. The partly printed passport (in French) bears U.S. Consulate stamp on recto and French Interior Minister stamp on verso. Toned and lightly stained with some separation at folds. Near fine.More Information:
John Allen served in the U.S. Navy before migrating to Texas one year before signing this passport. He then served Texas faithfully during the revolution. In 1839, he was elected Galveston's first mayor.
