Sam Houston Free Franking Signature, "From/ Sam Houston". One envelope, 3.75" x 2.5", though the postmark is mildly smeared, it appears to bear the date February 16, 1858, Washington, [D.C.]. The letter is addressed to W. C. Stone of Albion, Orleans County, New York. Houston served as U.S. Senator from Texas from 1846 through 1859.
