Description

Apollo 12 Command Module Flown Embroidered Crew Patch Originally from the Collection of Gordon Cooper (1927-2004) and with his Signed Letter of Authenticity. This 4" patch pictures a clipper ship heading to the moon, a reference to the all-navy crew. It is mounted on to an 8.5" x 11" printed sheet signed "Gordon Cooper" at the close. It reads, in part: "The cloth patch displayed below was carried on the flight of Apollo XII, the second manned lunar landing made during November, 1969. Charles 'Pete' Conrad and Alan Bean made the first 'pinpoint' landing of the Apollo program... They made two surface walks after their landing. Pete and I flew together on Gemini 5 back in 1965. We had the first ever crew designed mission patch for that flight..." Cooper was one of the original "Mercury Seven" astronauts and flew twice into space, Mercury 9 (Faith 7), and Gemini 5. Excellent condition.
