Apollo 10 Flown Pilot's Preference Kit (PPK) Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Command Module Pilot John Young, Certified and Signed. A Beta cloth bag, 5.75" x 8.75" with a 2" gusset and a metal grommet in a hole at top center. A sewn-on tag has the printed information: "KIT, PILOT'S PREFERENCE/ P/N SEB 12100018-202/ S/N 1034". There is also a small 1" x 0.5" tag (apparently duct tape) with "John Young" handwritten in ink. Young has certified and signed: "My PPK. John Young" on the front. The PPK allowed the Apollo astronauts "to carry certain items of a personal nature on each manned spacecraft flight." (NASA policy statement). This kit was on board Apollo 10 on its lunar orbit mission from May 18-26, 1969. Excellent condition with some minor light soiling.

Included with this lot is a signed Letter of Certification from John Young stating: "I hereby certify that the PPK that accompanies this letter, marked as KIT, PILOT'S PREFERENCE, P/N SEB 12100018-202, S/N 1034, is my PPK from Apollo 10, and that it was flown to the moon aboard the mission May 18-26, 1969. It has been part of my personal collection since the mission."
