Apollo 17 Command Module Flown Scissors with Lanyard and Snap Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Command Module Pilot Ron Evans. Measuring 8" in length, this stainless steel cutting tool, manufactured by Weck U.S.A., was used by Evans in the Command Module America. These scissors were used for various purposes including the opening of food pouches. The part number and serial number is found near the hinge: "P/N SDB42100059-202" and "S/N 1019" with a piece of Velcro affixed to the other side. The original lanyard and snap are still present with a part number "SDB42100118-702" and serial number "SN 1074". It is still in good working order- sharp with good spring tension. An important item used on mankind's last trip to the moon. Excellent condition.

Included with this lot is a signed Letter of Certification from Jan Evans (Mrs. Ron Evans) stating: "I certify that the silver metal scissors offered with this letter were flown to the moon on board the Apollo 17 spacecraft, December 1972. These scissors, marked as P/N SDB 42100059-202 and serial number 1019, were used by my husband Ron Evans during the flight. These scissors have remained with our family since the completion of the flight."
