Remnants of paper adhered to front board. The signature of abolitionist John Brown's eldest son occurs on the second flyleaf and on title page. Dampstaining and foxing throughout. Binding still tight. Very good. Accompanied by a poem (2.25" x 4") signed, "By/ Mr. & Mrs. J. A. Shade/ 25th Sept of 1918."
