Description
Buzz Aldrin, Award Certificate for the Knights Templar Cross of Honor. Aldrin was awarded the medal for, "...his place on the pages of Universal History...". The certificate states that "his fellow Knights pay homage and honor to Edwin Eugene Aldrin, Jr., Christian Crusader in the Sands of Time and Space." Shortly after landing on the moon, Aldrin broadcast: "This is the LM pilot. I'd like to take this opportunity to ask every person listening in, whoever and wherever they may be, to pause for a moment and contemplate the events of the past few hours and to give thanks in his or her own way." He then took Communion, privately. The document is 8.5" x 11". It was issued on August 13, 1969, the day Aldrin and the other Apollo 11 astronauts exited quarantine. Laminated and very fine. From the personal collection of Dr. Buzz Aldrin and accompanied by a signed Letter of Authenticity from him.Auction Info
