Description
John Young's Space Shuttle Columbia - Spacelab 1 (STS-9) Flown Bifocal Glasses Directly from his Personal Collection, Certified and Signed on Unflown Case. A pair of men's gold-colored, metal-rimmed glasses with the marking "5½ RANDOLPH ENG. USA" engraved inside each earpiece. These were worn on the last of Young's six spaceflights, the STS-9 Spacelab mission, November 28-December 8, 1983. There are photos available of him wearing these glasses during the mission; one such color photo, 4" x 6", is included with the lot. Fine, worn condition.On the unflown glasses case, John Young has written: "Bi Focals Worn on STS-9 John Young".
