Description

- Very rare Wells Fargo & Co. Express sign: 12 ft. x 2 ft. From the William Parker Lyon collection (sign marked on back, Lyon & 1873) Pasadena/Arcadia, California. This beautiful hand painted white with black highlights sign was a merchant's sign, probably from the Gold Rush Country. This merchant just did not have the money for a beautiful reverse glass sign of the time. This is one of the largest Wells Fargo California signs still in existence, it is a museum showpiece.

Condition: This is very unusual to find a sign this size in very fine condition; canvas & paint are excellent for period.
