U.S. Model 1883 Colt Gatling Gun and Rare Limber With Accessories. Serial no. 342, .45-70 Government caliber, ten 32-inch barrels contained in standard configuration brass shroud mounted with manufacturer's plate reading: Manufd By/Colt's Pat. F.A. Mfg. Co./Hartford, Conn. Near the breech is the circular plate reading: Gatling Gun/Patented below which is engraved: Model 1883/No. 342/Cal. 45. Shroud with 104 round Accles feed magazine with David Clark's inspection stamp: D.F.C. Standard hardware including brass crank and steel aiming handle and elevation guide. Sold together with single brass pin front sight and adjustable rear sight. Trunnion marked US. Mounted on a standard configuration U.S. Model 1886 wood and steel carriage which is a period field replacement issued for this gun and marked Watervliet Arsenal 1886 US 3. Sold together with original limber in standard configuration with steel lined iron box. Also included are the 10 original numbered barrels with DFC inspector's marks; Two boxes of (25) Winchester .45 caliber blank cartridges; unmarked extra bolt; later period World War II cleaning kit with assorted brushes and tools; and a black box of various brands .45-70 caliber shells. Condition: Very good to fine for this model. Accles magazine with moderate age wear and patina. Brass shroud with a smooth, fine age patina and slight dent 12-inches from muzzle. Bubble level absent. Barrels are replacements. Cascabel a modern replacement. One of the 10 bolts is a later replacement. Carriage and limber are good to very good showing moderate age wear and patina. Paint appears to be correct color and likely added during period of use. From the Michael Yeck Collection.
