Description

Edward Hopper Autograph Letter Signed "E. Hopper". One page, 8.5" x 10.25", plain paper, New York, April 13, 1951, to Dick Magee regarding his photography. In part, "...Thanks so much for sending the photographs...The camera must have a very fine lens to give the great variety in tone that the photos have..." Hopper was an American painter whose 1942 work, Nighthawks, is familiar to most, showing lonely customers at an all-night downtown diner, isolated from each other and the world, lost in their thoughts. This letter is boldly written and very legible, condition is fine with mailing folds and one tiny light brown stain that does not detract. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
