Apollo 11 Signed Flown Commemorative Cover with Notation by Buzz Aldrin. Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Buzz Aldrin have all signed in blue felt-tip this NASA Manned Spacecraft Center Stamp Club Official Commemorative Cover of the First Manned Lunar Exploration with a colorful cachet of two astronauts on the lunar surface. This is from the collection of Dr. Aldrin and has his handwritten notation at the upper left corner 'EEA-2 Carried to the Moon on Apollo 11', meaning this was flown cover #2 from the second man on the moon! Apollo 11 splashed down on earth on July 24 at which point, the equipment and astronauts from the spacecraft were quarantined. There is a rubber stamp on this cover stating 'Delayed in Quarantine at Lunar Receiving Laboratory M.S.C. - Houston, Texas'. As soon as this cover was released, it was taken to the nearest post office for cancellation. It bears a 6ยข U.S. Flag stamp and was cancelled August 11, 1969 at Webster, Texas. Excellent condition. This is the pinnacle, the ultimate, for any collection of space-related covers. From the personal collection of Dr. Buzz Aldrin and accompanied by a signed Letter of Authenticity from him.
