Description
Star-Studded 1936 National Air Races Autograph Book, over 200 pages, 8vo (7.5" x 10"), Los Angeles, California, green leather covers, personalized "Cliff Henderson" in gold type on front. As the promoter of the races between 1928 and 1939, Henderson was an entertainment V.I.P in his own right and, as such, managed to have many celebrities sign this book. Included here are signatures of such Hollywood greats as Jack Benny, Eddie Cantor, Gary Cooper, Cliff Edwards, Cary Grant, Ginger Rogers, James Stewart, and Robert Young. There is also a note signed by Amelia Earhart reading, "Please keep the air Races going until I can win something better than fifth place in the Bendix." Water stains on endpapers, otherwise internally fine. Cover soiled, however binding still tight. Overall very good condition. From the collection of Cliff Henderson.Auction Info
