Western: Two Early "Slim Jim" Revolver Holsters, Circa 1870. One holster by G. H. & J. S. Collins of Omaha is impressively decorated and named. The dark brown Collins holster is clearly stamped with the letters reading "G.H. & J.S. COLLINS/ OMAHA, NEB.", used prior to the firm's 1880 relocation to Cheyenne, Wyoming. The left hand holster has a wonderful tooled design of a sea horse complete with scales, tail, and fins, but with a bridled head of a horse. A name is scratched into the leather by the horse's nose and again on the back by the loop, "F. C. Whi[te?]". The loop is affixed with three copper rivets, two at the top and one at the bottom. It measures 10.25" high. The leather shows normal wear, else, fine.

The other holster, in black leather, appears to be a reworked United States Army model. It has been cut and re-stitched with very graceful lines and a scalloped top. The loop is affixed with three copper rivets at the top and two at the bottom. The toe of the holster has a leather cap. The holster measures 11" high. The finial is missing and the leather is cracked, else, very good.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
