Wells Fargo Wall Clock. According to the paper label pasted inside the pendulum housing, this wall clock was made by "E. Ingraham & Co. Bristol, Conn. Manufacturers of Eight Day Time and Strike Clocks". The patent date is December 3rd 1881. The reverse painting at the bottom depicts a horseback rider. At some point in time, someone has hand-painted the dial: "1856 Wells, Fargo & Co.'s Express Whiskey Creek California." This inscription appears to have good age to it and may date from the late 19th or early 20th centuries. The clock is complete, but may need some minor repair as the pendulum housing is loose. The back panel was a pencil inscription: "10/21/85 F.F.B. & Sons." There is a metal loop at the top for hanging. It hung in the consignor's home for many years. Once wound, it runs, as advertised by the maker, for eight days. It still works after all these years.
