    Wagon Train Bill of Lading from Ft. Sedgewick, Colorado Territory, to Ft. Casper, Dakota, October 11, 1866, one page, 8" x 12". This autograph document for "Train No. 9-14 Wagons" indicates that 603 sacks of corn received from Capt. J. P. W. Neill of the 18th U. S. Infantry are to be freighted to Brigadier General J. A. Potter, Quartermaster of the U. S. Army at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The verso includes a handwritten receipt dated November 21, 1866, stating that the corn was received "in good order and condition with the exceptions named," and signed "G. S. Carpenter / 1st Lieut. 18th Inf. / AAQM". Fine condition with original folds and small stain at top. This lot comes with additional information about the forts and individuals mentioned in the bill.
