    U.S. Model 1909 Revolver Holster Belonging to Texas Ranger M. T. "Lone Wolf" Gonzaullas and Pair of "Border Boss" Spurs by Wayne Paul. Comprising: 1) 1918 dated brown leather holster marked US. Manufactured by Grayton & Knight for double action revolvers. Brass stud near right edge. Toe with lanyard swivel. Reverse with belt loop afixed with three brass rivets and marked "G.?/1918/A.G." Sold together with 1993 dated notarized letter signed by Weldon Lucas Sheriff, Denton County in which he traces ownership from Captain M.T. "Lone Wolf" Gonzaullas to Captain G.W. Burks and then to Lucas. 2) Pair number 3 of 10 "Border Boss" Spurs by Wayne Paul, Lipscomb, Texas. ("Border Boss" was nickname of Ranger Captain John R.Hughes whose reputation was the inspiration for the young Gonzaullas to become a Texas Ranger.) Bands are mounted with silver Texas map and Border Boss along with Texas Ranger badge motif. Hand forged, numbered, limited edition spurs with 12-point, 1 3/4-inch diameter rowels. Drop shank with three sets of rocker-engraved silver overlays. Buttons with rocker-engraved floral silver overlays. Inside heel bands are marked, "Wayne Paul/Lipscomb Texas/NO. 4293/ 3 of 10." Unmarked brown leather straps and nickel-plated buckles. Heel opening 3 1/4-inches. Wayne Paul has been a spur maker for 25 years. He is listed in "Bits and Spur Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers" by Martin. Condition: 1) Fair. Heavy flaking throughout. Flap absent. Losses to stitching at toe. 2) Fine. Light age wear and patina.
