    Description

The Old West: 1885 Cattleman's Convention Dance Card. This is a wonderful piece of ephemera and Americana. It is a two-piece, die-cut dance card issued for the "Grand Complimentary Ball In Honor Of Second National Convention of Cattlemen. Merchants Exchange St. Louis Nov. 27, 1885." The front cover shows horses and cattle crazing and being herded. The back cover has a wide-brimmed cowboy hat and saddle. The interior lists the musical program and the ball managers. It is held together with the original cord and is in mint condition. It measures 4" x 4.5". From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg.
