    Tepee and Trail Wild West 101 Ranch Program, ca. 1915. The Miller Brothers 101 Ranch in Oklahoma/ Indian Territory near Ponca City, Oklahoma, was founded in 1879 by Colonel George Washington Miller, a former confederate soldier. The ranch spread over 110,000-acre of leased Indian land. At its height the ranch was a community unto itself, with its own complex of buildings including a hotel and school, a newspaper, its own issued scrip, oil refinery, and as many as 3,000 people lived there. In 1903 Colonel Miller died and the ranch was operated by his three sons, Joseph, George Junior, and Zack. The ranch remained in the family for almost 60 years.
