    Earliest Outside Maker's Mark

    Single-Mounted Crockett Spurs.
    'Large pair with maker's mark in the number 2 location circa 1935-38. See page 122 "Bits And Spurs In The Texas Tradition." 2 1/8-inch 12-point rowels are original and engraved to match the extensive overlays. Slightly turned-down shank. Chap guard. Crockett buttons with the four quadrant pattern. Beautiful tooled leather straps with scalloped buckles are a later addition. One of the engraved buckles is inside-marked: JW.
    Provenance: Roger and Linda Carpenter Collection.

    Condition: Fine. Light soiling and minimal riding wear.
