Pawnee Bill: 21 Pieces of Souvenir Ephemera. The stars of this grouping are two rare pieces of advertising ephemera -- a herald for 1898, 11" x 8", and a 16-page 1898 program for Pawnee Bill's Wild West. Both are in very good condition.

The next two pieces are connected to a less glorious but very likely no less profitable stint at Revere Beach, Massachusetts, for Pawnee Bill's Wild West in 1908, just before he joined forces with Buffalo Bill. The 32-page souvenir program for "Wonderland" shows it to be a sort of proto-Disneyworld/Epcot Center. Pawnee Bill is featured on the cover but shares space on the inside with water chute rides, the house of mystery, the Japanese Pavilion, and bathing-suit pictures of swimmer Annette Kellerman. This wasn't Pawnee Bill's only association with an amusement park. Included with this lot is a snapshot of the entrance to Pawnee Bill's Wild West at Brighton Beach, Coney Island. With this group are two souvenir target cards (6" x 3-1/2") printed for pistol shooter F. L. Corey. One, in German, advertises Texas Jack's Real Western Life. The other, in French, touts Pawnee Bill's Wild West. Finally, this group includes a collection of 15 various Pawnee Bill postcards, all in good condition, spanning the years 1900 to 1935.
