Mining Letter Colorado Territory Central City, C. T. (Colorado Territory), 1864. This four page, folded leaf, 8" x 10" letter, dated 1864 from Central City, C. (Colorado) T. (Territory) is addressed to the president of the Rockdale Gold Mining Company. The letter concerns title and conveyance to some mining claims in the region including the Nelson & Wood lode and the Calhoun Lode, another claim was pre-empted in July of 1860 by G. A. Amiot a Frenchman . The letter goes on to discuss cleaning up some questionable titles and legal problems and closes by mentioning trading some claims in the Russell District. The letter is signed Johnson & Teller as attorneys, but the letter is entirely handwritten by Henry Teller. Tellers mining wealth allowed him to build the famous "Teller (Theater) House" in Central City. Teller was known as one of the Territory's best orators and was elected a U. S. Senator and then appointed Secretary of the Interior. Measures approximately 8" x 10".

    Fine-very fine.
