Mexican Billy: Wild West Show Sharpshooter "Mexican Billy" (W. D. Ament) Autograph Letter to Colt Firearms, 1890. One page, 11" x 11.25", on his elaborate letterhead, New Orleans, [illegible] 23, 1890, to "Colts Fire Arms Co.". Upon breaking the main spring in one of his .22 rifles, Ament quickly sends Colt a request for a new spring. He writes, in part: "Gentlemen, please mail me a main spring for 22 cal rifle as soon as possible & kindly oblige yours Most respectfully W. D. Ament". Ament also includes a postscript indicating the circumstances in which he broke the spring and arranges billing based on his signing with "the great Barnum show for the summer season..." With the usual old, smoothed fold creases, some toning and modest chipping along the edges, else in very good condition.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
