    Lot of Two Photographs of Tonto Apache Tribe San Carlos, Arizona Territory, 1894. First image described in period ink on verso; "Chief Antonio and his family, living on San Carlos river about 12 miles from the agency San Carlos Agency, Arizona, Feb 1st 1894, Geo. S. Lesher M. D." depicts man with wife and four children, including papoose in traditional Indian carrier. Antonio holds rifle and wears cartridge belt. Second photograph described in period ink on verso also: "Squaw and baby of Tonto Apache tribe living about 4 miles from agency, San Carlos, Arizona Feb 1st 1894, Geo. S. Lesher M. D." This photo depicts Tonto Indian women with papoose in a traditional back carrier, supported by strap across her forehead. No photographer identification. Measures approximately 8" x 10".
