DescriptionLot of Two Cabinet Card Photographs of Mining Town Idaho Springs, Colorado, ca. 1890s. First cabinet card photograph is a "Birds eye view" of Idaho Springs, Colorado photographed by Jake Whitter of Denver, Colorado- a very detailed photograph of that great gold mining town. The second photograph is a cabinet card, also by Whitter. This image is of the Consolidated Stanley Mining Company just outside of Idaho Springs. The Stanley mine was approximately 1½ miles up Spring Gulch from its confluence with Chicago Creek, roughly ½ mile southwest of Idaho Springs as the crow flies. This photograph was taken looking eastward toward Chicago Creek with Spring Gulch at the right of the image. You can read the name of the company on one of the buildings with a magnifying glass. They measure approximately 8" x 5".
Condition: Very good-fine, dirty mount, small chipping on the bird's eye image.
