Knox & Tanner of Rawlins, Wyoming: Single Loop Side Holster and Money Belt. The open toe holster is for a 4¾" Colt SAA pistol. The money belt measures 29½" at the smallest and up to 34½" at the longest. There is a row of cartridge loops for thirty-one individual .44/45 caliber rounds and a copper concho attached with a leather thong. The holster is marked "Knox & Tanner/ Rawlins, Wyoming". Reuben Knox was a saddle maker who opened his saddlery in 1879, taking his son-in law, George Tanner, as a partner in 1900. The firm lasted until 1917. The 2¾" money belt is unmarked and has a clipped corner metal buckle. The belt shows modest honest wear with a hole cut for the tongue billet. The holster has had some restoration on each side of the skirt, else near fine.
