Document reads, in part: "State of Texas, County of Pecos, before me, Roy Bean, a justice of the peace in and for said County and State. Precinct No. 6. State of Texas vs. B. A. Durham to John Edgar, Sheriff of Pecos County, State of Texas. I Roy Bean a Justice of the Peace in and for said County and state, precinct No. 6 herewith commit into your custody for safe keeping on Martin Nester, a witness for the State in above entitled cause. He, the said Nester, not being able or willing to enter into bond for or give his testimony in the same. [Signed] Roy Bean, J. P. (Justice of the Peace) and said State and County Precinct No. 6".
