    Description

Johnny Baker Biographical Grouping. A collection of nine images of Baker throughout his lifetime. The highlights of this set are three 6th-plate tintypes, all approximately 2.5" x 3.5", taken between 1884 and 1886. One shows Johnny at age 15 wearing a costume-style shirt that must have been given to him by Buffalo Bill. Another shows him shooting what appears to be either a Stevens target pistol or short target rifle backward and between his legs. In the third he poses behind two seated Wild West staff members.

Also in the group is an oval miniature of Johnny wearing a Shriner's fez; three 6" x 9" Wild West publicity portraits, including one taken by Jas. A. Hunt in London; one 8" x 10" formal photograph of Johnny with his granddaughter; one 3"x 5" negative of Baker's grave in Rochester, New York. This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
