John Robert McChesney Single Mounted "Double Gal Leg" No. 29 Spurs, Circa 1920s. A collector favorite, these spurs feature copper, silver and brass overlays to create the famous "gal leg". The spurs are fitted with 1.5" five-pointed star rowels and are unmarked as is proper for pre-Nocona made McChesney spurs. McChesney who is credited as being the creator of the iconic Texas "gal leg" spur. The No. 29 pattern was his most innovative use of the "gal leg" motif in a catalog pattern. The spurs are complete with contemporary brown leather basket-weave straps marked "TexTan 1788D" on the under side. An excellent pair of spurs with a fine, un-cleaned patina.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
