    Report of a Reconnaissance in the Ute Country, 1873. Booklet by Lieut. E. H. Ruffner, Corps of Engineers, War Department, Washington, government printing office, 1874. There are articles on the "Routes to the Ute Country", sub-report on Musca Pass and Puncha Pass Lines, as well as detail on the mines and mineral veins of the area. There is an impressive foldout map of the surveys in Colorado made on reconnaissance in the Ute Country under the direction of 1st Lieut. E. H. Ruffner, engineers, Chief Engineer, Department of the Missouri by assistant H. G. Prout, 1873, engraved by Ado Hunnius. Map measures approximately 27" x 22". Booklet measures approximately 6" x 9".

    Good, cover has problems, been badly repaired, interior is very good.
