Edward H. Bohlin, Hollywood, California Silver-Mounted Western Riding Saddle. Another beautiful Ed Bohlin saddle with a rawhide tree, 13.5" swells, a 14" seat, 28.5" skirt, and a 4" cantle. The saddle is stamped "1907" under the left fender and marked "Edw. H. Bohlin Co./ Makers/ Hollywood, Cal." on the backside of the cantle. A Bohlin made black-and-white trimmed corona saddle blanket marked "Special" completes this fantastic Bohlin saddle rig. The saddle features a 3" sterling-silver engraved horn cap with longhorn on a 3.5" horn. The cantle is edged with a sterling-silver cap ornately engraved with a floral pattern. The jockeys and skirt are trimmed in engraved sterling-silver diamonds with matching sterling-silver corners and matching swell caps. The stirrups are wrapped with a heavy engraved silver band with silver concho accents. The leather has been lavishing tooled with ornate floral patterns. The padded seat, applied in a lighter-colored leather, is adorned with decorative stitching. It appears that a sterling presentation/owner's plaque was once mounted to the backside of the cantle but is now absent. This is an excellent Bohlin saddle, displaying only modest and respectful usage, and generally in excellent condition.
