This pair with the Big Inside Mark (see House et al : Bits and Spurs In The Texas Tradition page 122) on inside of heelband which makes this an early pair c 1925-1935. 2-inch 5-point star rowel with engraved silver overlay at end of shank. 3/4-inch wide heelbands are single-mounted with leaf-engraved diamonds with borders. 4-quadrant pattern on button covers. Sold together with plain modern brown leather straps.

Condition: Fair. Heavy wear throughout. Engraving has softened especially at the shank with losses to one. Other button cover with signs of having been in a wreck. Scattered pitting and staining. Heavy pitting to rowels.
