    Crockett Double Mounted Eagle Spurs.
    Very nice maker-marked pair with fine overlays of silver and copper. 1 1/2-inch 5-point rowels on slightly turned down shanks. Oval and rectangular engraved overlays from shanks to heelbands surround the stylized brass double eagles. Swinging buttons with the four quadrant pattern. Each spur marked: CROCKETT at bottom of offside heel band. According to House and Martin in "Bits & Spurs In The Texas Tradition" page 122, the Crockett mark in this location (# 5) dates these spurs to "After Oscar," circa 1946-55. Carved brown-leather vintage straps with roller buckles.

    Condition: Fine. Light age wear and fine patina. Some crackling to leathers around button covers.
