    Tombstone Hotelier: Nellie Cashman Endorsed Check. January 14, 1890 check, drawn on the "Santa Cruz Valley Bank", made payable to the order of Nellie Cashman and endorsed by her on verso. An Irish immigrant, she operated a boarding house in Tombstone known as the Russ House and established herself as one of Tombstone's leading citizens and all-around characters. She later headed to the gold fields in the Yukon.
