Houston, Texas Detective & Bounty Hunter De Gaultie Archive, 1882-3. Correspondence of eleven letters, from the bounty hunter/ detective A. De Gaultie & Company Houston, Texas. They range in date from July 1882 through September 1883. "Sending a detective into Mexico in order to capture a murderer hiding out there. "I guarantee success as I do not work in the dark. I am in this detective business since 1851 in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. I have to wait for the reward and I am very willing that the expense be deducted from the reward. I will overnight at your Ranch, but do not wish to be known as a detective outside of your family. After a hard fight, in which one of my men and three of the brigand's were wounded, one of my prisoners "Clark" shot twice-I have got my men". Western and especially Texas bounty hunter's letters are extremely rare, excellent and lengthy content, eleven hand written letters by Gaultie.Condition: Fine-very fine
