    Early Large Format Stereoview of Chief Packer Moore by Haines, ca. 1870s. Chicago Tribune July 5, 1876. From Fort Fettermen to the Rosebud, May 29- Marched from our camp on the North bank of the Platte River, opposite Fort Fetterman, at 1:00 PM today, the column being composed of troops commanded by General George Crook. One hundred wagons accompany us together with 205 pack mules, the latter under charge of chief packer Moore, who has served with General Crook in Oregon and Arizona.

    We are assuming this is the same expedition. A very scarce large format stereoview depicts Chief Packer Moore posing for the photographer, card No. 1780 photographed by F. Jay Haines on the plains with military camp site in background behind Moore, Tents, Horses, etc. Measures approximately 7" x 4".

    Fine-very fine, light stain right side.
