Buffalo Bill "Knock-off" Wild West Show Poster. William F. Cody (a.k.a. "Buffalo Bill") and his Wild West show spawned many competitors and imitators. This 29" x 39" poster apparently was produced for one such show, circa 1898. It promotes "Miss Arizona and Sitting Bill In Their Performance and Wild West Act." Miss Arizona was a take-off on Annie Oakley, otherwise known as "Little Miss Sure Shot". Like Oakley, she performs various rifle shot tricks. "Bill" seems to have been an accomplished juggler. The poster was lithographed by C. T. Felt and Son in Anvers, France. The colors are spectacular. The poster has been professionally mounted on linen and is ready for display.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
