    Billy the Kid: His Death Reported in Chicago Newspaper. Complete issue in two parts of "The Chicago Daily Tribune" for July 19, 1881. The third column on the front page reports: "'Billy The Kid', one of the most notorious outlaws known in the annals of this country, and who has been for several years the terror of the cattle-men of New Mexico and Colorado, has at last met with a deserved fate. He was shot dead by Pat Garrett, the Sheriff of Lincoln County, N.M. on the 14th inst. The cattle-men and other men will exclaim on hearing the news, 'Good for Pat!'" An additional story appears on page 3. Light browning and chipping to edges.
