Buffalo Bill Wild West: Business Records & Menus. Business records of any kind for Buffalo Bill's Wild West are few and far between. The three pieces here provide tantalizing glimpses into the operations of the show. First is a bill poster's 1916 record of "6 days wall and window work" on the letterhead of the Strobridge Lithographing Company, one of the biggest suppliers of posters to the Wild West. Its inventory includes an astonishing 36 24-sheet posters and 150 20-sheet posters -- billboards. The second piece is the report of one day's newspaper advertising in Eisenach, Germany, 27 August 1906. Third is a bill-poster's contract for Scranton, Pennsylvania, signed in April, 1908, for the June arrival of Buffalo Bill's Wild West. For two weeks in June, the bill-poster pledges to put up 2000 (!) sheets (a sheet was 28" x 42") at 8 cents per sheet.

Included with this group are two menus. The first is for the season-ending banquet, the "farewell dinner," for Buffalo Bill's 1914 tour with the Sells-Floto Circus and "Buffalo Bill Himself." The second, celebrating what was probably a happier occasion for Cody, is the 101 Ranch show's Independence Day banquet menu for July 4, 1916. The production values are higher with the 101 as well, and the menu is bound with red, white, and blue cord.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
