    Black Hills: Assorted Mining Ephemera. Includes: 10.5" x 6.75" cancelled stock certificate for the "Homestake Mining Company" of Lawrence County, Dakota with wonderful vignette of Indians, covered wagons, homesteads and trains, issued in 1897 but redeemed in 1900, 2)10.5" x 8.25" stock certificate for 10,000 shares of the "Indian Group Copper Mining Company" with vignette of three Indians, dated 1907, 3) 9.5" x 7" uninscribed certificate for shares of stock in "The Lead City Bank of Lead City, Dakota" with vignette of miners, printed in the 1880's, 4) an 1889 check drawn from the "The Lead City Bank" account of the Deadwood-Terra Mining Company and endorsed with rubber stamp of George Hearst, father of William Randolph Hearst (heavily stained), 5) a "Location Certificate" issued in 1879 for the "May Flower" Lode in the Newton's Fork Mining District, Pennington County, Dakota (the exact location and particulars of the claim are denoted within, 6) an 1888 Deadwood receipt of the Far West Mining Company signed by S[ebastian] Koenigsberger, a noted mine owner and entrepreneur (vertical folds with stains), and 7) 9.5" x 78" hand-drawn map on polished or glazed cotton titled "Spurs to Tin Mines Aug. 1891" (some insect damage and stains to left side (approximately 40%). Areas of loss in map are in the blank, white background. Mines located in Hill City.
