    Description

"WILD BILL" HICKOCK EDITION HARPER'S NEW MONTHLY MAGZINE - ca. 1867. This is the February 1867 no. 201 edition of Harper's New Monthly magazine featuring an article and nine (9) engravings on "Wild Bill Hickock". The first engraving is a full page 6.5"x 10" portrait of "Wild Bill" with his pistol and holster. The other engravings are half-page, one features Hickock in a Bowie knife fight with the McCanles Gang. There is a fabulously exaggerated story on the life of James Butler Hickcock by George Ward Nichols, from pg. 274-285. This periodical in individual form was a continued version of the previous months, and starts with this story. There are no tears, only light soiling around the edges. A rare Hickock item suitable for framing and display.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
