[Johnny Baker]. Group of Photographs (4). The centerpiece of this grouping is an 8" x 10" photograph taken in Rochester, New York, probably in August, 1916. From left to right are Oglala chief Iron Tail, Johnny Baker, his wife Olive Burgess Baker, her father and mother (and standing behind them, probably Olive's sister and brother-in-law), W. F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody, and Gladys Agnes Baker. This is one of the best "civilian" photographs ever taken of Iron Tail.

The lot also includes classic portrait photographs of the three principals: Iron Tail in warbonnet, measuring 5" x 7"; Johnny Baker, measuring 6" x 9"; and a seated Buffalo Bill, measuring 4" x 5", wearing the elk-hide jacket embroidered by Cree women in "Norway House" style at Winnepeg. The photographs are all lightly aged, and the "civilian" photograph has a small amount of dampstaining at the mounting card's top corner. Overall a special and beautiful group of photographs. The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
