Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-3) Unflown Robbins Silver Medallion Originally from the Personal Collection of Astronaut Tom Stafford, Serial Number 179, with Signed LOA. This 35mm sterling silver medal is in its original plastic case with the "#179" sticker on the bottom. It is one 207 minted in commemoration of Columbia's third orbital test flight with Commander Jack Lousma and Pilot Gordon Fullerton. The obverse features the mission insignia with the shuttle emerging from a star design with the crew's surnames and Columbia around. The reverse includes their full names and the mission information, "March 22, 1982" and "March 30, 1982 / RW17 White Sands, NM". The serial number is found on the rim along with the sterling and Robbins hallmarks. Excellent condition.

Included with this lot is a letter of authenticity signed "Thomas P. Stafford" on his business letterhead, stating (in part): "Enclosed with this letter is a Robbins sterling silver medallion issued for the Space Transportation System (STS) 3 flight. STS 3 was the third space shuttle mission flown using Orbiter 'Columbia' during March 1982. The actual launch and landing dates are engraved on the reverse side. Serial number 179 is engraved on the rim. I received this medallion from the STS 3 crew of Jack Lousma and Gordon Fullerton. Jack flew on the second Skylab mission back in 1973 and STS 3 was Gordon's first space flight."

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
