    Description

Yuri Gagarin: Soviet Period Scrapbook with Numerous Original Photos. An amazing and likely unduplicatable photo collection dedicated to the first man in space, Yuri Gagarin. A 14" x 11" blue bound scrapbook containing approximately ninety-five pages bearing B&W photos, many as large as 8.5" x 11.5", of Gagarin. The entire story of the Soviet Union's first manned space shot is told here, from pre-launch to his world tour as a hero. Even later photos, many apparently of family members are included. These are not images cut from newspapers or magazines, but rather, glossy and mat finish real photos. No captions or notations were found though some of the images apparently have writing on the verso. A fascinating and unique look at one of the most important feats in human history. Very fine condition.
