Soyuz 3 Picture Album Booklet Inscribed by Georgy Beregovoy, the solo commander of the last solo flight into space, to Ivan Borisenko on December 24, 1968. The booklet is 11.5" x 8.25" and in very fine condition. The album is bound in green with "Soyuz 3" written in Russian on the cover. The booklet contains 23 pages with 29 pictures, mostly unpublished secret government photos, color and B&W, taken before and after the flight at Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Beregovoy's solo flight, which lasted from October 26, 1968, through October 30, 1968, was the first successful flight of the Soyuz spacecraft after the loss and tragedy of Soyuz 1 a year earlier. The pictures included in the album were taken by government photographers at the top-secret location of the launch at Baikonur. The subjects of the photos begin with the arrival of Beregovoy at the Cosmodrome. Also included are first-time photos of the government commission and its participants, the preparation of the launch, activities on the launch pad, the journey to the launch pad, the launch-ready rocket, and more. All of these pictures could not - and most never would - be exposed to the public because of the top-secret designation placed on them by the U.S.S.R. government for over thirty-five years. This album was made for one of the participants present at the launch; he had top secret government clearance to have these photos in his possession.
