NASA Engineer's Hard Hat, Slide Rule, and Pocket Protector. A great collection of the three items that best symbolize a NASA engineer. These were owned and used by Richard C. Proffitt who joined NASA during the Gemini program as an operations engineer. He spent twenty years in the space program, retiring in 1984. The hard hat was made by SuperGlas and has the name "PROFFITT" stenciled on the front under a NASA "meatball" logo. The pocket protector has "Work Safely" and a NASA logo at top, and the Castell 6" slide rule is still in its original leather case. Great period items that would be interesting additions to any display. All items in well-used condition. From the estate of NASA engineer Richard C. Proffitt, Launch Complex 39 Operations Manager from 1969 to 1976.Auction Info

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.View More Testimonials
