    Description

    Apollo 9 Flown New Jersey State Flag Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Lunar Module Pilot Rusty Schweickart, Signed and Certified. A 6.125" x 4" cloth flag that spent ten days in space aboard Apollo 9, March 3-13, 1969, with crewmembers Jim McDivitt, Dave Scott, and Rusty Schweickart. The design of the New Jersey flag depicts the emblem from the state's Great Seal against a buff-colored field. Schweickart was born in Neptune Township, New Jersey. He has signed vertically at left: "Flown on Apollo 9/ Rusty Schweickart". This is the first space flown New Jersey flag that Heritage has ever had the privilege to offer. Excellent condition.
