Soyuz 10 Photo Album Inscribed by Commander Shatalov on the inside cover, "From the flight of the Spacecraft 'Soyuz 10,' 23 April 1971, Cosmodrome. To Ivan Borisenko, with appreciation of the flight of Spacecraft 'Soyuz 10' and with pride, Sept. 10, 1972." This album is 11.75" x 8.5" and is in very fine condition. It contains eight B&W and four secret Soviet color images on twelve pages featuring the arrival and pre-launch activities at Baikonur Cosmodrome. Written on the blue-bound cover in an unknown hand, "Soyuz 10, 23-25 4, 1971, V. Shatalov, A. Yeliseyev, N. Rukavishnikov." These were the official pre-flight secret Soviet photographs of the first spacecraft Soyuz 10 to dock and enter a space station, Salyut 1. The docking failed and Soyuz 10 returned the next day after doing some onboard tests while continuing its orbit.

These were top secret photos of the events, beginning with the crews' arrival at the Cosmodrome. Subjects include the preparation of the launch, the government commission and participants that were responsible for the flight, activities on the launch pad, the journey to the launch pad, the rocket readied for launch, and more. All of these pictures could not - and most never would - be exposed to the public because of the top-secret designation placed on them by the U.S.S.R. government for over thirty-five years. This album was made for one of the participants present at the launch; he had top secret government clearance to have these photos in his possession. This flight did not receive much publicity since it was considered unsuccessful; thus, these are extremely rare photos.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
