    Skylab II (SL-3) Unflown Silver Art Medal Originally from the Personal Collection of Astronaut Ed Gibson, Serial Number 1790, with Signed LOA. A beautiful high-relief medal, 63mm in diameter, containing 5.38 ounces of .999 silver. The obverse depicts an astronaut on an EVA above the horizon, "Skylab 2" [sic] and the full names of the crew. The reverse shows the Skylab station from above and has this text around: "Skylab Studies Earth's Resources and Environment - July 26 - September 26, 1973".On the rim are the serial number, manufacturer's hallmark, and silver fineness. Excellent condition.

    Included with this lot is an informative letter of authenticity signed "Ed Gibson" stating, in part: "The Space Medallion that accompanies this Certificate is from my personal collection... Skylab II - Extra large (2.5") AMI 0.999+ pure silver Skylab II Art Medal (#1790) that was designed by Presidential Art Medals and minted by Medallic Art Co. N.Y."
