Skylab II (SL-3) Signed Limited Edition Wives Patch Decal Commemorative Cover, #12 of 17, Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Pilot Jack Lousma, Signed and Certified, with Signed COA. A 9.375" x 4.125" cover canceled in Houston, Texas, on September 25, 1973, the date of splashdown. At the left is pasted a 4" square "Wives' patch" decal. To the right are the signatures of the crew's wives: "Helen Garriott", "Gratia Lousma", and "Sue Bean". It is addressed to "Mr. and Mrs. Jack R. Lousma" and stamped "000012". On the verso is another number stamp with the additional handwritten notation "(out of 17)", the address sticker of co-creator Jacques Tiziou. Lousma has signed: "From our family collection./ Jack Lousma". Extremely fine condition.

Included with this lot is a letter of authenticity signed "Jack Lousma" on his letterhead, stating (in full): "I hereby certify that the accompanying Commemorative Cover with Wives' Patch Sticker and signatures of all three crew member wives, although unflown, is one of the very few original stickers that were created secretly before the mission by the wives of the Skylab II (SL-3) crew members. Three of the stickers were first discovered by the crew on the backsides of Command Module locker doors when equipment was removed and transferred into the Skylab Space Station. It is from my personal collection and has been in my possession since the mission."
